Who is SB Tutoring?
Sarah Brouner

Having previously worked as a Lead Clinical Physiologist, and UK National Governance Manager for a leading private healthcare company, I have extensive industry experience as a scientist.

After years of training new clinical staff and managers, I wanted to use these skills to help young people reach their potential; creating the next generation of scientists!

After discussing your child’s needs and preferences for learning, I deliver a bespoke, tailored approach to tutoring your child, in support of their current educational provision or as their educational provision in homeschooling.

I am an experienced, award winning home school and SEND tutor, providing support to those who are neurotypical or those neurodiverse, including those with complex SEN including ASC, PDA, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and Dyspraxia. You can find out more about my SEND provision here.

Weekly Online Group tuition
Teens studying

Online Group Sessions focus on revision test/exam/mock prep, homework, revisiting topics from past learning and looking at new topics, building upon current knowledge. These are predominately student led sessions, so that your child can gain the most from these; Science subjects alternate each week. Short and to the point these are 45mins and £30 per session. Sessions are recorded and sent to parents each week, so students can use these again and again for revision. GCSE Science students also receive a student workbook for each topic for AQA sciences (Trilogy), perfect to use for test or exam revision.

Weekly group tuition ensures that students can have regular tuition in a friendly, nurturing environment, which is more affordable than one to one tuition.

Which type of tuition is right for my child?

One to one tuition often sees the most progress with learning and grades in the shortest amount of time. Small group tuition is also be a great way to learn with friends in an informal group setting.
Regular one to one sessions usually book up quickly, with some people booking 2 years in advance. If you are not able to have one to one tuition straight away, I offer a place on my waiting list, or you may like to join one of my group sessions until a one to one place becomes available.
I also offer cancellation slots and ad hoc tuition in school holidays. Please email for information or to book this.

FAQ's

Where does tuition take place?

Tuition either takes place in the comfort of your home or online via zoom. You may like to have a mix to meet the flexibility your family needs.

How impactful is tution?

While academic success or improvement cannot be guaranteed by any tutor, students usually improve their overall grade and confidence, which often transfers over to other subjects too!
On average students gaining tuition from SB Tutoring at A level increase by 2 grades and those at GCSE increase between 2-4 grades.

How is safeguarding managed at SB Tutoring ?

Child safety is of the upmost importance to SB Tutoring. Safeguarding CPD is undertaken regularly, and I hold an enhanced DBS Check which is updated yearly.
As a member of the The Tutors Association I adhere to a strict code of conduct, ethics and safeguarding.
All personal data is also handled to GDPR and ICO guidance.

What is your tutoring method?

I am student led but tutor guided.  Our sessions will always start with what your child wants to cover e.g. homework, revision for a test or something they want to gain confidence with, and ensures that there is curriculum flexibility.
I will discuss with your child how we can use the feedback from recent tests, school reports or parents evenings, to push their learning forward and then facilitate this.

Still have more questions? If so, please email me and I’ll be happy to answer them.
